About Us

As a loving congregation, Congregation Beth Simcha is dedicated to the Great Commission of Yeshua (Jesus) as
expressed in the Good News of Mattityahu (Matthew) 28:18-20, as well as in Romans 1:16 which states: "For I
am not ashamed of the Good News, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the
Jew first, and also to the Gentile."

Consequently, the Beth Simcha membership includes Jewish believers and people from a wide range of
backgrounds. The congregation is one in the Lord and it remains united by the power of Ruach HaKodesh
(the Holy Spirit), and by the belief that Yeshua is the Messiah of Israel and King over all nations. He is
the center and focal point of our faith.

The Jewishness of Biblical faith in Messiah Yeshua is expressed at Beth Simcha through Torah reading, prayer,
Messianic praise music, Davidic dance, Hebrew study, as well as in the observance of the Sabbath and Biblical
holidays.

Our desire is to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33), and to share our faith
with all peoples in a culturally sensitive way. We also desire to provide an environment where believers can
be edified and encouraged in their relationship with God as we grow in our knowledge of Messiah Yeshua.

It is our prayer that the Lord would bring the Church back to an understanding of its Jewish heritage and
roots so that both Jew and Gentile may know the spiritual reality of being one in the Messiah.

We prayerfully uphold the nation of Israel and its importance to the believing community and to the world.

We choose to magnify and glorify the Lord, by maintaining a consistent and Godly testimony before the world
as we live by Biblical morals and principles.

Our vision statement

Congregation Beth Simcha (House of Joy), a Messianic Jewish synagogue, exists to proclaim Yeshua (Jesus) as the Messiah, as we provide a Biblical Jewish context for New Covenant faith and life.

Our Messianic congregation desires to magnify the Lord and seeks to:

*Express this faith from within Jewish tradition and culture through scriptural teaching, prayer, liturgy,
worship, dance, and celebrating the Biblical feasts.

*Embrace the challenges inherent in our belonging to both the people of Israel and the Body of Messiah,
the church; committing ourselves to offer the best of our Messianic Jewish insight and understanding.

Mission Statement of Congregation Beth Simcha

Congregation Beth Simcha (House of Joy) is a Messianic Jewish Synagogue, proclaiming Yeshua (Jesus)
as the Messiah, while providing a Biblical Jewish context for New Covenant faith and life.

Our Messianic community desires to magnify the Lord, make mature disciples, and multiply ministries as we
seek to:

1.Express this faith from within Jewish tradition and culture through scriptural teaching, prayer, liturgy,
worship, dance, and celebrating the Biblical feasts.

2.Embrace the challenges inherent in our belonging to both the people of Israel and the entire
Body of Messiah; committing ourselves to offer to both the best of our Messianic Jewish insight and
understanding.

Thirteen Articles of Faith

WE BELIEVE:

1. That the Bible, composed of both the Tenach (Old Covenant) and the B’rit Chadashah (New Covenant), is the
only infallible and authoritative Word of God (II Timothy 3:16).

2. That God is Echad as declared in the Sh’ma (Deuteronomy 6:4), “a united one” or “compound unity”
eternally existent in three Persons as expressed in Isaiah 48:16-17.

3. In the Deity of Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Messiah) and that He is the “seed of the woman" as God
promised in Genesis 3:15 whose virgin birth was to be a sign to Israel of His Messiahship as stated in
Isaiah 7:14 (Isaiah 9:6-7).

4. In Messiah’s life, in His miracles yesterday and today, in His vicarious and sacrificial death as our
atonement, in His bodily resurrection , in His appearance thereafter in Jerusalem, in His ascension, in His
personal future return for believers in Yeshua, both living and dead, and in His future establishment of His
kingdom on earth.

5. That the only means of being cleansed from sin is by grace through faith in the shed sacrificial blood of
Yeshua HaMashiach and that regeneration by the Spirit of God (Ruach Elohim) is absolutely essential for
personal salvation (Leviticus 17:11; Ephesians 2:8).

6. In the present ministry of Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit) by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to
live a godly life (Ezekiel 36:26-27).

7. That the promise of the Father as contained in Acts 1:4-8 and that the gifts of Ruach HaKodesh
(the Holy Spirit) as foretold by Jewish prophets (e.g. Joel 2:27-29 and Isaiah 28:11-12), fulfilled in
(Acts 10:44-48) and as taught by the anointed Jewish apostle Paul, are for believers today
(I Corinthians 12:4-10).

8. That Jews of the flesh (descendants of Abraham through Isaac, whether through the blood line of the mother
or of the father) who place their faith in Israel’s Messiah Yeshua have not disowned or separated themselves
from their race and Judaic heritage but remains sons and daughters of Israel (Romans 2:28-29). Gentiles who
place their faith in Israel’s Messiah Yeshua are also, spiritually, sons and daughters of Israel
(Galatians 3:28, 29).

9. In the resurrection of both saved and lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to eternal
separation from God, the latter being consigned to a state of everlasting punishment (Daniel 12:2,
Matthew 25:46).

10.That the middle wall of partition, which in times past separated Jews and Gentiles, has been broken down
and the enmity between Jew and Gentile has been eradicated by the Messiah Yeshua (Ephesians 2:12-14).

11.That the New Covenant body of the Lord is composed of both Jews and Gentiles who have accepted Yeshua
HaMashiach as the Promised Redeemer and that new they are to worship TOGETHER in the House of God
(I Corinthians 12:13; Hebrews 10:25).

12.In the partaking of the communal elements of the matzah (unleavened bread) and the wine as instituted by
Yeshua HaMashiach at His last Passover Seder, that the elements are symbolic of the Lord’s death and His
resurrection (I Corinthians 11:23-34).

13.In the immersion (tevilah in the mikveh) of believers as commanded by the Scriptures to be an outward
sign of an inward salvation experience, symbolizing the death of the old self and the resurrection into
newness of life (Matthew 3:16, 28:18-20).

The Messiahship of Yeshua

From the beginning, the Tenach (Hebrew Scriptures) promised a Messiah (Genesis 3:15), a Savior for both Jews
and Gentiles (Isaiah 49:6). The Tenach reveals over 65 distinctives of the Messiah. He would be from the
tribe of Judah (Micah 5:2), the family of David (Jeremiah 23:5-6), and born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14). He
would suffer and die (Isaiah 53:19) as an atoning sacrifice prior to the destruction of the Temple by the
Romans in CE 70 (Daniel 9:24-26). He would be resurrected (Psalm 16:10).

The Brit Chadasha (New Testament) reveals Yeshua's fulfillment of prophecy. He WAS from the tribe of Judah
(Matthew 1:1-2), the family of David (Matthew 1:1), and born of a virgin (Matthew 1:23). He DID suffer and
die (Matthew 27:32-56) as an atoning sacrifice prior to the destruction of the Temple in CE 70. He WAS
resurrected, thus providing salvation for Jew and Gentile (Matthew 28:1-20).

Messiah Yeshua's gift of salvation is free to those who repent of their sins, place their faith in His
sacrifice, and believe that God raised Him from the dead.

Prayer of Commitment

Dear Father, I now confess myself to have broken your law and to have sinned before you. I acknowledge my
sin and ask You to forgive me. I ask Yeshua (Jesus) to enter my life and be my Messiah, Savior, and Lord.
From this moment forward, I believe Yeshua is the Messiah, and that He died on the tree for me. I believe
He rose from the dead and is living now, and I place my trust in Him. By faith in Him, I am now born again,
given eternal life, and invite your Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) to take up residence within. Please help me
now to continue to trust You, live for You, and grow in my relationship with You. Amen.
